2nd video project to join previously announced new video series, new TV show

A second new video series for Buichi Terasawa's 1978-1984 Space Adventure Cobra science-fiction pulp manga has been greenlit for production. A separate new video series and new television series was already announced in January. The first video series, the four-part Cobra the Animation, will feature Nachi Nozawa as the title character Cobra and Yoshiko Sakakibara as his partner Armoroid Lady. Nozawa and Sakakibara played the same roles in the classic 1982-1983 television series. Terasawa himself will write and direct this version, with collaboration by Kenichi Maejima on the storyboards and episode direction. Shichiro Kobayashi will oversee the art from the animators at Magic Bus. The first volume goes on sale in Japan on August 28.

A separate two-volume video project will follow, and then the story will return to television in yet another series. Acclaimed director Osamu Dezaki (Bionic Six, Black Jack The Movie, Golgo 13: The Professional, Ultraviolet: Code 044) was previously slated to write, storyboard, and direct the television version with Magic Bus.
