Japanese-Animated Batman Video's New Trailer Posted

1:34 trailer for six video shorts produced by Studio 4°C, Production I.G, Madhouse

The Yahoo! Movies website has posted a new one-minute, 34-second trailer for Batman: Gotham Knight, the Japanese-animated video collection about DC Comics' iconic costumed detective. Japan's Studio 4°C, Production I.G, and Madhouse animated six interconnected stories that bridge Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight movies. Warner Home Video will ship the release on July 8 in North America after a June 28 premiere at the Wizard World Chicago convention. (The Dark Knight opens on July 18.)

Though slavishly formulaic and distinctly kid-oriented, this series about two starkly contrasting 8th graders who become a magical girl duo still looks good enough, and is distinguishable enough in its action components, to warrant at least a sampling by anime fans with diversified interests.

Fushigi Yûgi -VIZBIG Edition- GN 2
Watase's Fushigi Yûgi is without a doubt one of the titles to set the standard for what “manga” in the United States has come to be. For this reason alone, it is a must-read. But even if you couldn't care a whit about its historical significance, it's still a fun story that may be enjoyed purely on its own terms.
