2nd Tamagotchi Anime Feature Green-Lit for December

The official Japanese website for the theatrical anime based on the Tamagotchi virtual pet has announced that a second feature film has been green-lit for production. Eiga! Tamagotchi Uchū Ichi Happy na Monogatari!? will open in Japan on December 20. The Tamagotchi Honto no Hanashi theatrical short ran during the height of the Tamagotchi fad in 1997, while the first feature, Eiga de Tōjō! Tamagotchi Doki Doki! Uchū no Maigotchi!?, opened on December 15 of last year. The North American anime distributor Bandai Entertainment announced its acquisition of the first feature in May.
More information about the second feature will be posted on July 15.
