THE iDOLM@STER Break! Manga to Debut in September

Shonen Rival to run pop idol manga by artist of Negima!? neo, Deus Vitae

Manga artist Takuya Fujima (Negima!? neo, Deus Vitae) has announced on his website that he is launching The IDOLM@STER Break! manga in the October issue (on sale on September 4) of Kodansha's new Shōnen Rival magazine. The manga is based on The IDOLM@STER music rhythm game, in which the player guides nine idol singers as their producer. The Sunrise anime studio already adapted the game — with considerable differences in plot — into the iDOLM@STER: XENOGLOSSIA robot mecha anime series. This anime spawned its own manga adaptation that is unrelated to the new manga.

Tokyopop published the three volumes of Fujima's Deus Vitae manga in North America in 2004. Del Rey just announced at Comic-Con International 2008 last week that it licensed Fujima's Negima!? neo for North America as well.
