Lost in Translation
The New York Children's Film Festival has announced that it will screen Mamoru Hosoda's award-winning The Girl Who Leapt Through Time anime film on September 13 and 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the IFC Center. The festival held the North American theatrical premiere of the film in March of 2007, and it will show the film's English-dubbed version this time around. The film updates Yasutaka Tsutsui's classic children's novel about a girl who discovers an ability to jump back in time — and the caveats that come with using this power. Bandai Entertainment, the North American licensee, also screened the film in New York from June 13 to June 19.
