Cartoon Network's Toonami Jetstream online video service has posted an interview with Sean Akins and Jason DeMarco, the creative directors that developed the network's Toonami action programming block. (In the linked page, select "Extras" from the top menu, and then select "Toonami Spotlight" from the righthand menu.) Akins and DeMarco, both of whom still remain with the network after Toonami ended last Saturday, describe the genesis of Toonami's concept and name. They also talk about how the voices of Toonami's narrator (Peter Cullen) and mascot Tom (Sonny Strait, Steven Jay Blum) were chosen based on their associations with Voltron, Dragonball, and Cowboy Bebop, respectively.
