Kodansha America to Distribute Manga Guide to Akiba

Kodansha America will be distributing Japan Publications Trading's Akiba: A Manga Guide to the Akihabara next month. The guide will be split between a story section and travel information section; the first half will be a manga story in which "a young woman discovers that her boyfriend has been harboring a very, deep secret." The second half will contain color photographs, locations mentioned in the opening story, maps, and transportation information on Tokyo's otaku shopping district of Akihabara (Akiba for short). The book will retail at US$19.95.
Kodansha America confirmed with ANN that this book is not directly related to new Kodansha USA subsidiary that is being launched this year; Kodansha America is only serving as the American distributor for Tokyo-based Japan Publications Trading for this book.
