First Witchblade Anime Episode for Free on U.S. iTunes

The anime distributor Funimation has announced that it began offering Gonzo's Witchblade television series on the American iTunes Store and that the first episode is available for free until October 26. In this series, director Yoshimitsu Ohashi and script supervisor Yasuko Kobayashi adapt Top Cow's Witchblade comic series about an ancient weapon that transforms the women who wield it into super-powered warriors. The anime and spinoff manga reset the story in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo where a woman uses the Witchblade to protect a mysterious girl.
