posted on by Egan Loo
MOVIC offers six designs, including Nerv, Seele, Angel Monogram, 6th Angel

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: The Japanese character goods maker MOVIC has announced on Thursday that it will offer the official Evangelion Underpants Collection: Otoko no Tatakai (A Man's Struggle). The underpants come in medium (76-84 cm/30-33 inches) or large (84-94 cm/33-37 inches) sizes and in six styles: Nerv, Seele, Angel Monogram, Ugoite yo, 6th Angel, and Nigecha Dame. Evangelion's official website suggests the Nigecha Dame ("I mustn't run away!") underpants for psyching yourself up for stressful work, tests, dates, and similar situations.

Another company, Mobile Collection, is offering an official Evangelion fashion line that includes women's dresses inspired by the EVA-01, EVA-00, and EVA-02 weapons in the anime. Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, the second film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part theatrical remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion science-fiction anime series, will open in Japan on June 27. Funimation announced on New Year's Eve that it will release the first film in the remake, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, in North America this year. ADV Films released the original television series, while Manga Entertainment released the two 1997 films. Viz Media, ADV Manga, and Dark Horse Comics have all released or will release the manga versions of Evangelion.

Update: More background information added. Appliya has added calendar and puzzle applications to its Evangelion collection for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch mobile devices.

Update 2: A more appropriate translation for Nigecha Dame added. Thanks, samuelp.
