Jump Gets Its Own Saki-yomi Jum-Bang! TV Talk Show

Evening show to air 3 days before Weekly Shonen Jump mag ships in Japan

The Japanese advertising agency and television sponsor Dentsu has announced at Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) 2009 this past week that it will launch Saki-yomi Jum-Bang! — a weekly television talk show devoted to Shueisha's Jump magazine and manga brand — on April 3. The half-hour program will run on TV Tokyo and its network of affiliates every Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. As the "Saki-yomi" ("Early Browsing") prefix in the title implies, the program will air three days before Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine ships every Monday.

Media personality and fashion model Akina Minami (a.k.a. "Akkīna"), the comedy duo America Zarigani (literally, "American crayfish"), and other special guests will appear on the program. "Akkīna" voiced a role in Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl: Giratina to Sora no Hanataba Shaymin. America Zarigani's Tetsuya Yanagihara voiced roles in Arashi no Yoru ni, Natsume Yūjin-Chō, and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, and his partner Yoshiyuki Hirai also acted in Arashi no Yoru ni and Natsume Yūjin-Chō.

The Toei Animation production company has also announced at TAF that the new one-hour Sunday morning block of the revamped Dragon Ball Kai airings and the long-running One Piece anime series will be named "Dream 9" after its 9:00 a.m. timeslot.
