Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li to bundle other animated videos instead

Neither the Japanese DVD/Blu-ray Disc release of the live-action Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li film, nor its North American DVD/BD release, lists the Sakura theatrical short that was double-billed with the film's theatrical screenings in Japan. Executive supervisor Koji Morimoto worked with his Animatrix animators at Studio 4°C on the short, which centered on the popular high school girl character Sakura from from CAPCOM's fighting game franchise.

Instead of the Sakura short, The Legend of Chun-Li's North American home video release lists Street Fighter Round One Fight (Eagle One Media and Udon Studios' animated comic) on a bundled disc. The Japanese home video release lists neither the Sakura short nor Eagle One Media's animated comic. Instead, it includes the Street Fighter Alpha: Generations anime video. Even though Studio A.P.P.P. produced Alpha: Generations in Japan and Manga Entertainment released it already in North America in 2005, it has never been officially released in Japan until now. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li ships on DVD and BD in North America on June 30, and then in Japan on August 5.
