1st of 3 Hitoshi Ariga's game-based volumes to ship in January

Udon Entertainment confirmed on Tuesday that it acquired the rights to Hitoshi Ariga's Mega Man Megamix manga. Kodansha originally published the three-volume series in Japan in 1997 under the name Rockman Megamix. Mega Man Megamix is based on CAPCOM's Mega Man (Rockman) gaming franchise, which has spawned more than 100 games and numerous manga, anime television series, original video animation, and a movie.

Udon will release the first volume on January 27, with the second and third volumes shipping in April and July, respectively. Udon has previewed pages from the first volume on its blog.

Hitoshi Ariga also drew the spinoff manga to The Big O anime series. Viz Media holds the rights to the manga and have released all six volumes, although it is now out of print. Viz Media have also published the 13-volume MegaMan NT Warrior manga series.
