Eight television stations in southwestern Japan are jointly producing anime shorts which will air in February. Fukuoka's Television Nisinippon, Television Nagasaki, Miyazaki Telecasting, Okinawa Television, and other affiliates of Fuji TV will run the shorts during their commercial breaks. They also plan to offer the content on video and music distribution services for mobile phones, and eventually leverage the copyrights for character goods and DVDs.
The eight companies established a production committee for the anime with the Dentsu advertising and marketing firm and DLE Inc. — the studio best known for Flash anime works such as Eagle Talon, Haiyoru! Nyaru-Ani, and Licca-chan to Mahō no Kuni.
