Tokyo Zombie's Yūsaku Hanakuma makes DVD of own manga about cyborg salaryman

Alternative manga creator Yūsaku Hanakuma is writing, directing, and animating an anime DVD based on his own Cyborg Salaryman Mecha Afro-kun gag comedy manga, and the DVD will ship in Japan on September 3. The 32-minute anime follows the bizarre daily life of the latest cyborg salaryman model, which has just been hired at a Japanese company in the near future.

Last Gasp Publishing released Hanakuma's Tokyo Zombie manga in North America, and Anchor Bay shipped Sakichi Sato's live-action film version with Tadanobu Asano and Shō Aikawa. Hanakuma's "Musuko wa Inu" manga short story is slated to be published next month in English in Top Shelf's AX collection book, a 400-page selection of alternative manga from Seirinkogeisha's bimonthly AX anthology magazine in Japan.
