News Novelist: Split Infinity Film Plans Shift Away From Anime

In his October newsletter, English American novelist Piers Anthony reported that the contract for the film adaptation option to his Split Infinity science-fiction/fantasy novel has been extended. According to Anthony, the unnamed party that is developing the project expects to have the movie made in 2013. However, the novelist added, "It was going to be anime, but may become a regular feature film. We'll see."
Anthony had first revealed in April of 2005 that a party showed him a screenplay for a Split Infinity movie. On September 30 of that year, his agent reported that "Split Infinity will be made into an anime movie." Anthony reiterated the anime movie plans a year later, and again in February of 2007.
Split Infinity is the first book in Anthony's The Apprentice Adept series, in which a man named Stile travels between two worlds — a technological one named Proton, and a magical one named Phaze. Stile discovers that his alternate self on Phaze has been murdered, and he might be next.
