AICon Featured in The Mercury

Tasmanian newspaper The Mercury published an article on AICon on its website on March 5th, coinciding with the first day of the convention.
The article reports that AICon, now in its sixth year, outgrew its previous venue at the University of Tasmania and moved to the Derwent Entertainment Centre. Over 1000 guests were expected to attend this year's convention, which featured anime screenings, cosplay and gaming in its programme.
AICon design co-ordinator Laura Burns is quoted as attributed the growing popularity of anime in Tasmania to the variety of genres it provides.
The Mercury is also hosting an photo gallery of cosplayers and other AICon attendees.
