News K-On Vol 1 DVD Expected by August
Manga updates its K-ON! news
Manga UK annnouced the following on twitter:
Finalized UK plans for K-ON!! release. Expect Vol.1 DVD by August. We are authoring with Madman in Australia and they don't recive materials until April. Add 12 week production time. So, that's why it takes so long. Please don't import R1 edition. It'll kill us.
This follows the recent announcement that the Complete Series 1 box-set won't be released until the first quarter of 2012; see story here.

Jazz music is much the stars as the main cast in this story about teens who become friends in late 1960s Japan. Great sounds and good character development bolster what is otherwise a fairly pedestrian character drama.
