News AG-ONE to Take Over Chaos;Head Game Developer 5pb.

The Thursday edition of Japan's Kanpō paper reports that AG-ONE, the production company co-owned by Nico Nico Douga's Dwango and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, is planning to take over the game company 5pb. on June 1. The takeover plan is subject to votes of approval by both companies' shareholders on May 13. If approved, AG-ONE will assume all assets and debts of 5pb., and 5pb. will no longer be a separate business entity. The two companies have already been in a business partnership since last May.
Among other game titles, 5pb. co-developed Chaos;HEAd, Steins;Gate, and the upcoming Robotics;Notes with Nitroplus. Chaos;HEAd inspired a television anime series in 2008, and the Steins;Gate television anime series premiered this month.
