Adaptation of Kami Imai's manga now streaming free in the U.S.

The American video streaming site Hulu is currently streaming all 24 English-subtitled episodes of the television anime Needless. Section23 announced this past November that it would distribute the anime series through Sentai Filmworks.

The 24-episode Needless anime adapted Kami Imai's manga of the same name last year. The action gag comedy with "bishojo x violence" is set in 2130, when large swaths of Japan have been quarantined as polluted "Black Spots (BS)" in the aftermath of World War III. However, there are people who have settled behind the massive walls of the Black Spots, where they have developed mysterious powers. The city people on the outside have a label for the Black Spot people they have ostracized: "Needless."

The Anime Network is already streaming the series; however, only the first and second episodes are available to viewers who are not paid subscribers.
