Ghibli Screenings in Newcastle; Akira screening in Bath, July 3

Newcastle screenings will start with Spirited Away on July 30 and 31.

Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle has announced that it will be showing four films from Studio Ghibli's backlist, as well as Ghibli's new release Arrietty. Each of the older films will be shown twice, in subtitled and dubbed versions. The cinema is in Newcastle City Centre, near Monument Metro Station (map).

- Spirited Away, subtitled screening Sunday July 31 (time TBA), Children's film club dubbed screening on Saturday July 30 at 1200.

- Ponyo, subtitled screening Sunday August 7 (time TBA), Children's film club dubbed screening on Saturday August 6 at 1200.

- Howl's Moving Castle, subtitled screening Sunday August 14 (time TBA), Children's film club dubbed screening on Saturday August 13 at 1200.

- Princess Mononoke, subtitled screening Sunday August 21 (time TBA), Children's film club dubbed screening on Saturday August 20 at 1200.

The cinema's screenings of Arrietty begin on August 5.

Tickets to the Children's film club dubbed screenings are £3.20 for 15s and under, or £4.20 for over-15s. Children under 14 must be with adults, and adults are only admitted when accompanying children.

In addition, a further venue has been added to the list of cinemas screening Akira in July. The Little Theatre Cinema in Bath will show the film on Sunday July 3 at 2015. The list of other cinemas showing Akira is here.
