Barbican Screening Legend of the Millennium Dragon November 27

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Part of the Barbican's Premiere Japan season.

The Barbican in London will screen Legend of the Millennium Dragon, originally called Onigamiden, on November 27 at 4 p.m. Tickets are £9.50 online or £10.50 full price (concessions £8.50, Barbican members £7.50/£8.50). The screening is part of a Barbican season called Premiere Japan 2011. The other five films in the season - all live-action - are listed here.

Directed by Hirotsugu Kawasaki (Spriggan) and produced by Studio Pierrot, Legend of the Millennium Dragon revolves around a 15-year-old boy who travels back in time — over 1,200 years ago to the Heian period — and faces a war between oni (demons) and humans in the former Japanese capital of Kyoto. The anime adapts a 2004 two-volume novel from author Takafumi Takada. The subtitled trailer is below.
