15-second comedic shorts feature main characters in super-deformed style

The official website for Seiji Mizushima and BONES' Un-Go television anime series revealed on Thursday that the show's Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases will include the 15-second "Inga Nikki" (Inga's Diary) animated shorts.

Fuji TV originally began broadcasting the shorts on October 5 to count down to the anime's premiere on October 13. The shorts feature the characters Shinjūrō Yūki (Ryo Katsuji) and Inga (Aki Toyosaki) in super-deformed style.

The first Blu-ray Disc will also include clean opening and ending footage, a character chart, and "Izumi Koyama's report." The limited-edition of the first Blu-ray Disc will also include a CD drama titled "Kaishō Household's Secret." The first Blu-ray Disc and DVD will be released on January 27.

In the story of Un-Go, Shinjūrō Yūki and Inga work together to solve mysteries in a near future timeline. The story is based on the works of Ango Sakaguchi (Aoi Bungaku Series' "In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom"), a post-World War II Japanese novel and essayist. Shou Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost Slayers Ayashi, Martian Successor Nadesico) is writing the scripts, and pako (Scarred Rider Xechs) and Yun Kouga (Gundam 00, Loveless, Earthian) are handling the character designs.

Crunchyroll is streaming the series in various countries outside of Japan, Anime on Demand is streaming the series in the U.K., and Anime News Network Australia is streaming the series in Australia.
