Hatsune Miku London Screening Date Confusion (Updated)

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Confusion over whether Piccadilly Circus screening is November 28 or 29.

Update - More2Screen have now confirmed there will be two separate screenings of the Hatsune Miku concert film, on November 28 and November 29.

As of Monday afternoon, London's Apollo Piccadilly cinema had not confirmed the date of its Hatsune Miku screening. The cinema told ANN that it was awaiting clarification from Japan, but that it hoped to confirm screening details on Tuesday.

Earlier, the UK Anime website forwarded its own correspondence with representatives of Live Viewing and More2Screen. Both parties claim they have confirmed with Apollo Piccadilly that the screening will be on November 29. According to the Live Viewing rep, the screening will start at 6 p.m.

However, until Monday morning, the Apollo website claimed the film would be shown on Monday November 28. The listing has since been taken down from the website.

The screening is part of a world tour for the virtual Vocaloid singer, who appears in the concert film "Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011 39's LIVE in SAPPORO." (The film shows an event which took place in northern Japan in August.)

Update - An earlier version of this article claimed that the screening was confirmed for November 28, based on what ANN was told by the Apollo Piccadilly cinema. This has now been contradicted by More2Screen, the organisers of the screening. However, ANN is still awaiting a confirmation from the Apollo Piccadilly.

Update 2 - The website UK Anime forwarded information; our grateful thanks for its help.

Update 3 - ANN received a call from the Apollo Piccadilly cinema, saying it had requested clarification from Japan. The cinema hopes to confirm screening details on Tuesday. The Hatsune Miku listing has currently been removed from the cinema website.
