Funimation Adds Chinese Live-Action Film GIRL$

The North American distributor Funimation announced on Tuesday that it has acquired the home video rights to the Chinese live-action film Girl$. The film follows the lives of four young women and their forays into the world of compensated dating. Funimation plans to release director Kenneth Bi's film on DVD next fall.

Bi has directed numerous films in both Hong Kong and Canada. Previous work includes titles such as: I Felt My Life with Both My Hands, The Drummer, Rice Rhapsody and A Small Miracle. He has also won several awards for Rice Rhapsody including Best New Director from the 25th Hong Kong Film Awards and Outstanding Screenplay from the Taiwan Government Information Office.
