A two-minute trailer for Chihiro Matsumoto's independent computer-animate film Happening Star✩ began streaming on the film's official website on December 17.

The science-fiction adventure story takes place 46 million light years away from Earth in the Sombrero Galaxy on a planet named Milky. The alien boy Kid, who refers to himself as "Space's #1 Pilot," uses a "Power Crystal" to modify his spaceship and travel through dimensions.

Matsumoto produced, directed, and wrote the screenplay for the 48-minute film with music from Makoto Shozu and Tatsuki Tsuboi. The well-known Japanese voice actress Romi Park (Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, NANA) stars as Kid, and Aki Toyosaki (K-ON!, Shugo Chara!) plays Miru. Other roles include Halko Momoi (Steins;Gate, D.C. ~Da Capo~) as Kuly, Ichirô Nagai (Sazae-san, Ranma ½) as Pit, Takamichi Murashima as Mogu, Keiko Zaitsu (Battle Spirits: Heroes) as Lutz, and Emi Morooka as Pomo.

Happening Star✩ will be distributed at the Sunshine Creation doujinshi event on January 22.

The creators also began streaming a cast introduction video with Momoi on December 24, a Kid character video with Park on December 25, and New Year's greeting video with Park on Monday.
