Disney posts interviews with Arrietty dub cast, ADR Director

Walt Disney Pictures will release The Secret Life of Arrietty in 1,522 screens on Friday, according to box office tracking website Box Office Mojo. Midnight screenings will start in selected theaters tonight.

Disney has released several interview clips with the US cast of The Secret World of Arrietty, including Bridgit Mendler (Arrietty), David Henrie (Shawn, formerly Sho), Amy Poehler (Arrietty's mother), Will Arnett (Arrietty's father) and Carol Burnett (Hara the maid), as well as ADR director Gary Rydstrom. The interviews mainly discuss each actor's role and their opinion of the film.

To promote the film, Mendler and Henrie have also made appearances on several interview outlets, including Disney Channel's "Movie Surfers" short-form promotional talk show, and with TalkingPictures.tv and ComingSoon.net. Meanwhile, Poehler and Burnett have appeared on TalkingPictures.tv, Jake the Movie Guy and MovieFanatic.com.

In his directorial debut, Yonebayashi re-imagines Mary Norton's 1952 novel The Borrowers by moving the story to a Tokyo suburb. The story revolves around Arrietty, a member of the "little people" who live under the floorboards of a regular human family's home. Arrietty's family tries to remain hidden from the human "beans."

The film will open in North America on February 17. The film already opened in Japan in July 2010, and then it opened in the United Kingdom last August with a different English dub than the North American one.
