Miyuki Sawashiro Joins Moyashimon Returns Cast

The official website for Moyashimon Returns, the second television anime adaptation of Masayuki Ishikawa's Moyashimon manga revealed on Friday that Miyuki Sawashiro will join the cast to play the new character Marie.
The Moyashimon story follows a college student who discovers that he can see and communicate with the germs all around him — germs that appear as super-deformed characters. Yuichiro Yano is returning to direct the series and Natsuko Takahashi is again in charge of the series composition.
The series will premiere on Fuji TV's late-night programming block Noitamina on July 5. The first episode will have an advanced screening at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology on July 1. The advanced screening will also include a talk show with voice cast members Daisuke Sakaguchi, Mitsuki Saiga, and Yumi Touma.
The manga has been running in Kodansha's Evening magazine since 2004. Del Rey licensed the manga and released two volumes before Kodansha Comics USA took over Del Rey's titles in 2010. The first television anime series aired in Noitamina in 2007, followed by a live-action adaptation with lead actor Yuichi Nakamura in the same block in 2010.
