New Busou Shinki TV Ad Features Opening Theme

Kana Asumi, Minori Chihara, Kaori Mizuhashi, Megumi Nakajima sing opening theme for anime premiering October 4

A new 30-second commercial for the Busou Shinki television anime series is currently airing. The ad features the opening theme song "Install x Dream" sung by cast members Kana Asumi, Minori Chihara, Kaori Mizuhashi, and Megumi Nakajima as their respective characters. Azusa will perform the ending theme song "Taiyō no Sign." The official website for the series is also streaming three promotional videos.

Adapted from Konami's line of armed female action figures, the slice-of-life battle story is set in a future that has neither World War III nor an alien invasion — just an ordinary future set after our current age. In this world, robots are part of everyday life, and they contribute in various aspects of society. "Shinki" are 15-centimeter-tall (about 6-inch-tall) cute partners made to assist humans. Equipped with intelligence and emotions, they devote themselves to serving their "Masters."

These Shinki can even be equipped with weapons and armor to fight each other. Such Shinki are named "Busou Shinki" (literally, "armed divine princesses"). In particular, the Shinki Ann (Arnval, voiced by Kana Asumi), Aines (Altines, voiced by Kaori Mizuhashi), and Lene (Altlene, Megumi Nakajima) serve a high school freshman named Rihito (Takahiro Mizushima). Things change when a new Shinki, the bellicose Strarf (Minori Chihara), joins them.

Yasuhito Kikuchi (Infinite Stratos, Macross Frontier) is directing the anime at studio 8-Bit. Takahiro Kishida (Madoka Magica) and Ryōma Ebata (Blue Exorcist) are handling character designs, and Ebata is also serving as chief animation director.

The net anime Busou Shinki: Moon Angel preceded the series last year. The new series will premiere in Japan on October 4.
