Wii U Sells 890,000 Units in 1st 6 Weeks in U.S.

Independent research organization NPD Group stated that 890,000 Wii U units sold in the United States from its debut on November 18 until December 31. 460,000 units were sold in December alone.
Nintendo of America's senior vice president of sales and marketing said a strong launch title, New Super Mario Bros. U, and a high demand for the console's deluxe edition contributed to sales.
According to the results of a survey that think tank Media Create made public on Thursday, the Wii U sold 694,370 units in its first five weeks in Japan.
