Natsumi Kon's opening theme previewed in latest video

Japanese television channel AT-X aired a commercial for the upcoming spring anime Ginga Kikōtai Majestic Prince on Thursday. The series will begin airing on April 4. The ad previews Natsumi Kon's opening theme song "Watashi wa Sōzō Suru."

The story follows humanity after it expanded its frontier into space in a quest for resources. Advances in genetic engineering research allow humans to adapt to the new frontier, leading to the advent of evolved children such as the protagonist Izuru (played by Hiroki Aiba). Izuru enrolls in an academy city called Gurantseere to fulfill his mission of "protecting humanity" with robotic mecha.

Keitaro Motonaga (Katanagatari, Jormungand) is directing the series, Hisashi Hirai (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed franchise) is designing the characters, and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON! franchise) is writing the script and is serving as series script editor. Dogakobo and Orange are producing the series. Chiaki Ishikawa is performing the ending theme song "Sayonara tte Iu."

The other cast members of Izuru's Team Rabbits include Shintarō Asanuma as Toshikazu Asagi, Yuka Iguchi as Tamaki Irie, Yōko Hikasa as Kei Kugimiya, and Junya Ikeda as Ataru Suruga.

Rando Ayamine and Hikaru Niijima's Majestic Prince manga began serializing in Monthly Hero's inaugural issue in 2011, and Shogakukan Creative published the third volume of the manga earlier this month.
