posted on by Andrew Osmond
A complete DVD collection in Autumn; also, a two-part Blu-ray edition.

Anime Limited has announced that it has acquired Hiroyuki Imaishi and Gainax's Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann robot anime series on both DVD and Blu-ray. According to the press release, "Gurren Lagann will be available in the autumn in one complete DVD collection. It will have two Blu-ray sets with release to be confirmed shortly when pre-orders go live."

The story is set on a future Earth where people are forced to live in isolated underground villages. One boy uncovers a key to a robot, and the resulting adventures put him in the battles waging on the surface and lead him to the secrets behind humanity's new existence. The 2007 series was previously released on UK DVD by Beez Entertainment (now deleted).
