tsuritama

Yuki Sanada (Ryota Ohsaka) lives with his grandmother and due to her constant moving house Yuki can't seem to establish any real friendships in his various high-schools. When Yuki and his grandmother move to the island of Enoshima he is quickly introduced to fish-bowl balancing, self-proclaimed alien Haru (Miyu Irino) when he appears on Yuki's doorstep and states that he will be living in the same house. With Haru determined to teach Yuki how to fish and make friends they soon meet fisherman and secluded local Natsuki (Kouki Uchiyama) and mysterious Indian Akira (Tomokazu Sugita) with his duck companion Tapioca.

Directed by Kenji Nakamura (Ayakashi - Samurai Horror Tales, Mononoke, Kūchū Buranko, C). tsuritama was animated by A-1 Pictures with original character designs by Atsuya Uki (Cencoroll) adapted by Yûichi Takahashi (Macross Frontier, Iron Vendetta). Toshiya Ono (Suite Precure, Eiga Suite Precure: Torimodose! Kokoro ga Tsunagu Kiseki no Melody) was in charge of series composition and wrote many of the scripts and Kuricorder Quartet (Allison & Lillia) composed the music.

tsuritama's 12 episode run was part of Fuji TV's Noitamina block and broadcast in April 2012 and later streamed online by Crunchyroll around the world, including Australia.

Hanabee will release tsuritama on the 4th of September 2013 in a complete set on both Blu-ray and DVD. This release will contain both the English dub and original Japanese audio alongside English subtitles.
