Anime Limited noted the following:

- Dragon Ball Season 8, which topped both charts, sold over 1,200 units in July.

- Re the new Blu-ray editions of Grave of the Fireflies and Kiki's Delivery Service, "It's hard to tell what sales were BD and what were DVD." For this reason, the titles are omitted from the 'month's releases' chart. "If we take their numbers at face value as 100% BD though, this would place them in #3 and #4."

- Tiger & Bunny Part 3 was 'not much' below Is This a Zombie? at #10 in the month's new releases. Other titles that missed the top ten were Iria Collection, Bakemonogatari Pt 1 and the Nightwalker Collection. Anime on Limited notes that MVM had to recall its initial release of Bakemonogatari.

- One Piece Collection 2 sold 400 more copies than the next highest new release, Persona 4 The Animation - Box 3.
