More Details on Japan Touring Programme Including Colorful

Colorful director will appear at two London screenings of his film (Jan 31 and Feb 4).

The 2014 Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme will include personal appearances of the director Keiichi Hara at the London screenings of his anime feature film Colorful (pictured). The two Colorful screenings in London are on January 31 (7 p.m.) and February 4 (6.15 p.m), both at the ICA cinema.

The Programme will also tour the following venues:

Based on the movel by Eto Mori, Colorful is about a person trapped outside the endless circle of life and death. Thanks to winning a lottery in the angel world, the protagonist is brought back to inhabit the body of a 14-year-old boy — who just committed suicide. The film won the Best Animation Film Award at 65th Mainichi Film Awards, and took two prizes at Annecy, the world's largest animation film festival.

The tour line-up also includes the live-action comedy film Otakus in Love, directed by Suzuki Matsuo (details), which will be shown in London (Feb 1), Bristol (Feb 8), Newcastle (March 2), Sheffield (March 7) and Nottingham (March 21).
