Suda 51's Killer is Dead to Get PC Release

Deep Silver to publish Killer is Dead – Nightmare Edition on May 9

Game publisher Deep Silver announced on Monday that it will bring Grasshopper Manufacture and Kadokawa Games' Killer is Dead to PC on May 9 as Killer is Dead - Nightmare Edition. The game will retail for 19.99 EUR/USD/GBP.

The company listed the new content for the PC release:

New difficulty mode called Nightmare Mode. In this mode, enemies can only be defeated using the following attacks: Adrenaline Burst, Dodge Burst, Headshots, so the gameplay requires far more skill and tactics. Players will not be able to use the Final Judgement finisher (QTE mode) to defeat enemies.

Smooth Operator Pack for console will be included and unlocked after Episode 3.

Theater Mode - Rewatch cutscenes and get extended background information on characters, helping to unravel the story after your 1st playthrough

The game stars Mondo, an "executioner" whose job it is to kill various heinous criminals. Executive director Suda51 stated the game will be full of the "condensed essence" of his previous "assassin games" such as killer7 and No More Heroes. He also noted that the game will feature sword fighting action just as No More Heroes does, and that it will be a "brilliant" game that goes in a different direction from the "pop and cute" Lollipop Chainsaw.

The game debuted in Japan on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last August 1, and XSEED games shipped the game in North America on August 27.
