Steins;Gate's Satō, anohana's Okada make anime about girls caught in dangerous card game

The BS11 television channel aired a television commercial for Selector Infected Wixoss, a new original anime:

The anime will premiere on Friday, April 4 at 25:05 (effectively Saturday, April 5 at 1:05 a.m.) on the Tokyo MX TV station. It will then debut on BS11 on April 6.

The tagline of the anime is:

Hope, desire, greed.

Girls with each of these feelings in their hearts are being swallowed into the vortex of a dangerous game…

WIXOSS is a hugely popular card game, particularly among middle school children. But few know of LRIG Card, "the card of girls who possess will." Only special girls can hear the voice of LRIG, and those who possess this card are called selectors.

A Girl prayed to fulfill her wish.
Scattered strange gene "wixoss"
all around the world [fused] into one form.
Searching in vain for a fight…
Victory will be the only way for her
wish to [revolutionize].
Now, shall her "Wish Across" be conquered.

Takuya Satō (Steins;Gate, Armitage III, Say, "I Love You"., Strawberry Marshmallow) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Mari Okada (anohana, Hana-Saku Iroha, Amazing Twins) is charge of the series scripts, based on an original story by LRIG (Warner Entertainment Japan, Takara Tomy, J.C. Staff). Kyuta Sakai (When They Cry - Higurashi, Steins;Gate, Strawberry Marshmallow) is designing the characters, and Yoshikazu Iwanami is directing the sound. Maiko Iuchi (A Certain Magical Index , Dog Days, Waiting in the Summer) is composing the music, while Kanon Wakeshima (Vampire Knight, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness, Strike the Blood) is contributing the opening theme song. Kentaro Akiyama (Studio Pablo) is the art director, and Yukiko Itou is the color key artist. Shingo Fukuyo is the director of photography, and Masahiro Goto (REAL-T) is editing.

The toy and game maker Takara Tomy is launching the WIXOSS (pronounced like "wi-cross") card game in April.
