Dungeon-crawler RPG for PS Vita also heads to Europe on May 28

North American video game publisher Aksys Games announced on Friday that the upcoming dungeon-crawler role-playing game Mind Zero is slated for a May 27 digital and retail release in North America on PlayStation Vita. The European digital-only release date is scheduled for May 28.

Aksys Games also began streaming a trailer for the game on Friday. The trailer is essentially the full opening video from the original Japanese release, with the May 27 release date in North America added to the end. The video features the game's theme song "Hōsō Machine MIND≒0 Ver." by yucat.

To coincide with the release date announcement, Aksys launched the game's official website.

Aksys describes the "dark stylish role-playing game" from Acquire:

Play as Kei, a high school student whose life turns upside down when he forms a contract with a “Mind,” a weapon/being with deadly powers. With the government and other forces trailing him and his friends, Kei will need to discover the secret behind “Mind.” Will these newfound powers help him or ultimately be his doom?

Control Your “Mind” – As you and the rest of your party battle enemies, use your “Mind” to do your bidding – unleashing powerful attacks and defending yourself from harm. Master skills and become even more powerful.

Dungeon Crawling Action – Once you enter a dungeon, you will face a treacherous maze of monsters, all ready to devour you. Make sure to prepare yourself before you step inside!

Discover Your “Mind” – Each “Mind” has unique abilities; however, delving deeper into the mystery, you learn the dangers of these powerful “monsters.” Are these “Minds” a blessing...or a curse?

In Japan, the game stars Tomokazu Sugita as the game's protagonist, Kei Takanashi. Additional cast include Rina Satō as Sana Chikage, Yūichi Nakamura as Leo Asahina, Takehito Koyasu as Yoichi Ogata, Minori Chihara as Kotone Shiragiku, and Yūki Kaji as Kanade Sakyo. ZIZZ Studio (Hatenkou Yuugi, Tales of Symphonia the Animation) provided the music for the game, while novelist Minato Kushimachi wrote the game's scenario under supervision by Zerodiv. Artist kyo designed the characters.

Acquire released the game under the title MIND≒0 in Japan on August 1, 2013.
