Organizers of California's Anime Expo convention announced on Friday that video game producer Keiji Inafune will attend this year's event as a guest of honor. Inafune will have a question and answer panel and autograph sessions.

Inafune co-designed CAPCOM's Megaman (Rockman) character and worked as producer for many titles in the video game franchise. After leaving CAPCOM, Inafune founded the video game developer Comcept in 2010. The company raised more than US$3.8 million for its Mighty No. 9 side-scrolling game in a crowdfunding campaign that ended in October.

Inafune's side-scrolling action game Azure Striker Gunvolt will be released in North America and Japan this summer.

Anime Expo will also host director Yutaka Yamamoto, the Sword Art Online II premiere with novelist Reki Kawahara and illustrator and character designer abec, the Kill la Kill dub and K: Missing Kings premiere, singer Eir Aoi, Japanese band angela, script writers Kazuki Nakashima and Yoshiki Sakurai, character designer SUSHIO, producer Yosuke Toba, voice actresses Ami Koshimizu and Ryōka Yuzuki, and Studio 4°C producer Eiko Tanaka.
