Viz Media Gains Doraemon Merchandise Licensing Rights

Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd. (Sho-Pro) announced an agreement with their subsidiary, Viz Media for Doraemon merchandise rights in North and South America. Viz Media will become the master merchandise licensee for the anime property, overseeing the licensing and development of a range of new products.
Sho-Pro and Viz Media will highlight Doraemon at the upcoming Licensing Expo on June 17-19 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The Doraemon anime series is set to premiere in English this summer on the Disney XD channel, a first for the series in North America.
The Doraemon manga is published digitally on Amazon Kindle and an exhibit was held earlier this year Hawaii.
