Manga creator also provides art for original novels following gun that transforms into human assassin, middle school girl

This year's 30th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan creator Hiroshi Shiibashi is starting a new manga titled Tsukumogami: Teito Jōhōbu Tokkenchobōin Serosero Nanashiki (Tsukumogami: Imperial City Information Bureau Special Privilege Spy Nanashiki Serosero) in Jump Next!!'s third volume of 2014 on July 22. The manga adapts Yoshi Manaka's light novel of the same name, and Shiibashi provides the illustrations for the original novels as well.

The story of the novel series revolves around female middle school student Chiyoko, who is part of her school's naginata club. In her house sleeps a single revolver. That gun is actually able to transform into human form, and in the past, he was created to be an assassin for the imperial city's information bureau. Chiyoko learns of the revolver, whose name is Nanashiki Serosero, and she teams up with him to defeat the halberd tsukumogami Reishiki, who has been killing people for the past few hundred years.

Manaka won the gold prize at Shueisha's Jump Novel Newcomer Awards '13 Spring competition, and Shueisha is shipping the first volume of the novel on July 4.
