Polar Bear's Café Manga Moves From Flowers to Cocohana

posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Aloha Higa started manga in Shogakukan's Flowers magazine in 2006

The next issue preview for Shueisha's Cocohana magazine is listing that Aloha Higa's Shirokuma Café (Polar Bear's Café) manga will be moving to the magazine as of its September 2014 magazine. The manga has been serializing in Shogakukan's Flowers magazine since Higa began the series in 2006.

The gag comedy manga follows the daily lives of various animals that visit a café run by a polar bear. Some of the polar bear's most frequent visitors are a panda, a penguin, a llama, and a grizzly bear.

The manga inspired an anime in 2012 starring Takahiro Sakurai (.hack//Roots, Psycho-Pass) as Polar Bear, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as Polar Bear's Café to English-speaking audiences as it aired in Japan.
