Atlus USA also streams gameplay footage

Game Publisher Atlus Japan began streaming character trailers featuring Naoto Shirogane and Kanji Tatsumi from Persona 4 for its upcoming 2D fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on Thursday.

Kanji: What the heck is up with that tower? If you have to have it, at least make it in a cuter design! Kanji: It's time to pay back the debt to whoever is behind all this!
Kanji: Don't you be talking so much. I'll smash you to pieces, so bring it on, you!
Kanji: It's a Shiba Inu... He's pure white... He's just too ahndsome, darn it!
Kanji A: Hey you! Don't you be causing trouble for Amagi-senpai!
Kanji B: Huh!? You're the one causing trouble for her, you fake!
Kanji: Doing all this stuff and being so round-about... If you want to fight, then fight directly, darn it! Go, Take-Mikazuchi!
Narrator: A strange bloom of roses and muscle! The macho emperor on the battlefield! Kanji Tatsumi!
Kanji: What the heck is this!? Some weird fog is coming out.
Kanji: Another fighting tournament? Well, if my opponents are fakes, then I guess I don't have to hold back!
Kanji: No matter how many times you try, the result will be the same! I'm going to crush you to the ground!
Kanji: I didn't make it hurt too bad, right? Hey, I'm not saying that in a weird way!
Shadow Kanji: Time to enter a new world you've never seen!

Naoto: I see... To think they'd send such a mediocre imposter like you... Naoto: As long as we are here, we won't let you do what you please!
Naoto: It appears that the circumstances are different from before. What direction are things taking this time?
Naoto: Kirijo Ergonomics Research Laboratory... A facility where Shadows are studied.
Naoto: Once we find out how to deal with the culprit, I am sure Mitsuru Kirijo's true intentions will become clear.
Naoto: A wish...? Just whose...
Naoto: I don't know what you're trying to do, but I will definitely stop you! We will not forgive anyone who hurts our friends!
Narrator: Looks like a kid, but her mind is big like a monster! IQ 20,000 can't-read-the-mood detective! Naoto Shirogane!
Naoto: I have allies who need me. For the sake of them, I will definitely crack this case! Do you not understand the meaning of bonds between people?
Naoto: I can't lose, I swear to the name of Shirogane!
Naoto: Oh, the idiot squad? Please come back another day.
Shadow Naoto: I'll modify you. But if you die, sorry?

Atlus USA also began streaming gameplay footage on Tuesday.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the PlayStation 3 port of an arcade game, will ship in Japan on August 28 as Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultrasuplex Hold and Atlus will ship the game in North America on September 30. First copies will come with a code to download extra scenario set for the game. Atlus announced in June that police detective Tohru Adachi from Persona 4 will appear as playable DLC character.

The story takes place only a few days after the events of Persona 4 Arena, when the town of Inaba is clouded in a shroud of red fog in which time is warped and people disappear. Inaba has almost become like the world inside the television. To add to it all, the members of the Persona 4 team find Mitsuru and Akihiko being crucified on the Midnight Channel. In front of the Inaba students appear Yukari and Junpei, members of the Shadow Worker unit who have come to the rural town in order to save their upperclassmen.

Atlus released the first Persona 4 Arena (Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena) game for Japan in 2012 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and Atlus USA released the game in North America less than two weeks later.
