Lost in Translation
This year's 32nd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine is announcing on Monday that CLAMP's xxxHOLiC: Rei manga will go on hiatus. The announcement asks readers to wait for information about the series' return to the magazine.
After a magazine release delay, the series launched in the magazine in March 2013. Kodansha has published two compiled book volumes, and the third is slated to ship on August 20. Kodansha Comics released the first volume in North America in April, and the second is slated to ship in November.
The magazine is also announcing that the Tsubasa WoRLD CHRoNiCLE: Nirai Kanai-hen manga, the creator unit's newest series, will launch in this year's ninth issue of Kodansha's Magazine Special on August 20. The magazine announced the manga last month as “a new story of Tsubasa that is connected to xxxHOLiC: Rei.”
Clamp began Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, their manga that brings together characters from their past series, in 2003, and ended it in 2009. The manga inspired two television anime series, a feature film, and two original video animation (OVA) projects, all of which are licensed by Funimation in North America. Del Rey once published all 28 compiled English volumes of Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE in North America.
