Series about a guy with supernatural female roommates premieres today

Crunchyroll announced on Friday that it will stream the television anime of Takehaya's INVADERS of the ROKUJYOMA!? (Rokujyōma no Shinryakusha!?) light novel series. The series will stream on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. EDT starting on July 11 for premium members and one week later for free members. The stream will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Latin America, Turkey, Europe excluding German speaking countries and cities, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America.

The cast includes:

Yuichi Nakamura as Kōtarō Satomi

Eri Suzuki as the ghost Sanae Higashihongan

Nichika Omori as the magical girl Yurika Nijino

Masumi Tazawa as the underground dweller Kiriha Kurano

Maria Naganawa as the space alien Theiamillis Gre Fortorthe

Ayana Taketatsu as Karama, a haniwa (clay grave figure)

Aoi Yuki as Korama, another haniwa

Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Kenji Matsudaira, a childhood friend of Kōtarō's

Aya Suzaki as Shizuka Kasagi, a girl who goes to the same school as Kōtarō

Saori Hayami as Ruthkhania "Ruth" Nye Pardomshiha, Theia's maid

Megumi Takamoto as Harumi Sakuraba, a beautiful classmate of Kōtarō's

The "apartment comedy" centers around Kōtarō Satomi, a boy who started to live by himself to attend a high school. He fortunately discovered a very cheap, tiny (six-mat or rokujyōma) room for 5,000 yen (about US$50) a month, and began his new life there. However, when he moved into that room 106 in the Korona complex, some unexpected "roommates" began appearing one by one.

Heart♡Invader, a vocal unit with members Nichika Omori, Eri Suzuki, Masumi Tazawa, and Maria Naganawa, will perform the opening theme song titled, "Kōkan Win-Win Mujōken" (Good Feeling Win-Win Unconditional). Yūki and Taketatsu's musical unit Petit milady is contributing their third single, "Ending" as the anime's ending theme song.

Shin Oonuma (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, ef: a tale of melodies) will direct the anime at animation studio Silver Link (Dusk maiden of Amnesia, Kokoro Connect), and original creator Takehaya will serve as series director. Poko provided the original character designs, and Hideki Furukawa will adapt the character designs for the anime, and will also act as storyboard director. Shogo Yasukawa will handle series composition, Ryosuke Nakanishi will score the soundtrack, and Zero-A will produce the music.

Takehaya launched the light novel series with illustrations by Poco in 2009, and Hobby Japan published the 16th volume this month. Tomosane Ariike started a manga adaptation on Hobby Japan's Comic Dangan website last December. The light novels already inspired an original promotional movie with some animated footage by director Shinichi Watanabe and Silver Link in 2010.
