This year's September issue of Shogakukan's Shōnen Sunday Super will announce on Friday that Lupin III vs. Detective Conan The Movie will get a manga adaptation starting in the magazine's next issue on August 25. Yutaka Abe and Denjirō Maru, who drew the three-chapter manga adaptation of the Lupin III vs. Detective Conan television special among other Detective Conan spinoffs, will return to draw the movie adaptation.

The September issue also published the final chapter of Abe and Maruden's manga adaptation of the Detective Conan film, Case Closed The Movie: The Time Bombed Skyscraper (Meitantei Conan: Tokei Jikake no Matenrou). The series will be compiled into one volume and ship in Japan on August 18.

The film crossover between Monkey Punch's Lupin III and Gōshō Aoyama's Detective Conan (Case Closed) opened in Japanese theaters in December, and the television special aired on NTV in 2009.

In the film, the "Cherry Sapphire," an illusive secret treasure that holds the key to the entire world, will bring the two titular characters in a "head-to-head confrontation." Lupin is suspected of stealing the gem, and "when the truth is revealed, the curtain will open on the greatest battle in the world."

Update: Denjirō Maru's name fixed. Thanks, skyechan.
