2014 Godzilla Film's Sequel Slated for June 2018

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures plan to release the sequel to Gareth Edwards' Godzilla remake film on June 8, 2018.
Edwards' Godzilla premiered in the United States in May and earned over US$500 million worldwide. Legendary president and chief creative officer Jon Jashni told Variety in May, “Our initial goal was to re-brand and re-establish the property in a Tiffany way. Now, we're trying to take in all of the results of [opening] weekend.”
Edwards is currently working on Disney and Lucasfilm's Star Wars film slated to premiere on December 16, 2016. He is expected to direct the Godzilla sequel after his work on the unnamed Star Wars film concludes.
This year's Godzilla film premiered in Japan on July 25. Bandai Namco is producing a Godzilla PlayStation 3 game slated for release in Japan in this winter.
