Gainax's Otaku no Video OVA Blu-ray Listed in Japan

The Japanese arm of online retailer Amazon is listing the Otaku no Video Special Edition Blu-ray Disc for release on December 26. The release will feature new content such as specially recorded audio commentary, a collection of production images, and a leaflet with a special illustration.
The release will include both the "1982 Otaku no Video" and "1985 Zoku Otaku no Video" episodes and retail for 6,264 yen (about US$60). The Blu-ray Disc will feature the "Otaku no Shōzō" live-action segment included in the original release.
Gainax produced the original video anime (OVA) for release on VHS in 1991, and the Otaku no Video DVD Special Edition release followed in 2000. AnimEigo released the OVA on DVD in North America in 2002.
