Game based on volleyball anime will ship in Japan on September 25

Bandai Namco Games began streaming a new promotional video for its Haikyu!! Tsunage! Itadaki no Keshiki!! (Haikyu!! Connect! View From the Top!!) game for the Nintendo 3DS on Thursday. The video is narrated by Karasuno's Kei Tsukishima (Kōki Uchiyama).

Text: "Connect! View of the Promo!!" Narration votes selected!
Text: Finally, the members have been chosen!!!
Text: The six people chosen to for the promo!!
Text: Sixth place! Kei Tsukishima. Summary: regarding whole game.
Tsukishima: For the beginning of this, I'll explain the whole game. That sure is annoying. I'll finish it quickly. Everyone knows the process of the game, right? I'll just skip over it.
Text: 1. Choosing a protagonist and advancing the story
Tsukishima: There's six protagonists, huh? Fine by me... Choose one person and advance [the story].
Text: 2. Character training
Tsukishima: I just do one sport, so naturally I have to participate in training. It's good if people really want to play, right? I find it appropriate.
Text: 3. Volleyball match card game.
Tsukishima: I'll just skip over the rules of a match. Anyone can explain it... Ah, for the card game, you'll need numbers and calculations, so it might be a little hard for slow people.
Tsukishima: In other words, this game is about collecting six people for the volleyball matches and adventure mode. Got it?
Tsukishima: "Haikyu!! Connect! View From the Top!!" Eh, they practically got it now. Next person, you're up.
Text: The 5th place member enters next time!

Bandai Namco Games also began streaming a trailer on Thursday featuring the game's overall story and gameplay.

The game will allow players to experience the world of Haikyu!! anime in two ways: the Adventure Mode and the Game Mode. In the Adventure Mode, depending on the character the player chooses to be the main character, the story may differ from the original manga and anime, as the game will include new plot points. The six choices are Shōyō Hinata, Tobio Kageyama, Daichi Sawamura, Kōshi Sugawara, Asahi Azumane, and Yū Nishinoya.

In Game Mode, the player will battle against their in-game rivals with the character they have powered-up through choosing a training menu. The strategies and in-game drama from the source material will also be included during matches.

The game will ship in Japan on September 25, and first copies of the game will come with a download code to redeem a "Haikyu!! Quest" mini-game. A limited edition "Hero on the Court Box" bundle will contain a tin case, six postcards, a special DVD containing cast comments and footage recreating the Haikyu!! Quest game, and a special art booklet will cost 7,600 yen (about US$76), while a normal copy of the game will retail for 5,690 yen (about US$57).

Production I.G's anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! volleyball manga premiered in April. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American digital and home video release and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
