Monthly Ikki's Replacement Magazine's Line-Up Announced

Publisher will launch a new magazine this winter

The final issue of of Shogakukan's Monthly Ikki magazine is announcing further details on its replacement magazine on Thursday. Monthly Ikki is suspending publication and the publisher will launch a new, unnamed magazine this winter. Q Hayashida's Dorohedoro, Natsume Ono's Futa ga Shira, and Shunju Aono's Slapstick will continue in this magazine.

The new magazine will include works by Akiko Higashimura (Princess Jellyfish), Yuna Takagi (Fujimi Lovers), Ine Arinaga (Kami no Sumau Tokoro.), Tanato (Sneaky Red), Totempole (Tokyo Shinjū), Yuhki Kamatani (Nabari No Ou), Tomo Taketomi (Kono Koi wa Minoranai, Evil heart), Hideyoshico (Apple and Honey), Saburō Nagai (Boys, Be Ambitious!, Smells Like Green Spirit), Tenten Hosokawa (Tsure ga Utsu ni Narimashite), Yūta Nishio, TORICO Yamada (Aokute Katai, Fujitsu no Otoko), and Tsuyoshi Matsumoto (Shizuka no Yama).

Taiyo Matsumoto's Sunny manga will transfer into Monthly Big Comic Spirits beginning in the magazine's March issue on January 27.

Monthly Ikki began as a spinoff of Big Comic Spirits magazine in 2000, and became a standalone monthly magazine in its own right in 2003. Viz published or released online several of Monthly Ikki titles in English under "Sigikki," a collaboration between the Viz Signature imprint and Ikki.
