Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works' 2 1-Hour Specials, Ad Unveiled

Hiroshi Kamiya joins cast, new key visual revealed for series premiering October 4

Aniplex announced at the premiere screening of episode one of the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works animethat the anime's first two episodes, episodes zero and one, will be one hour in length each. Episode zero, "Prologue," will premiere on October 4, and will focus on Rin Tohsaka and her Servant Archer. Episode one, "Fuyu no Hi, Unmei no Yoru," (A Winter Day, A Fateful Night) will premiere one week after episode zero on October 11, and will focus on Shirō Emiya and his Servant Saber. Episode one was screened at the Tokyo and Tokushima premieres, while episode zero was premiered at the Osaka and all foreign screenings.

Aniplex also began streaming a commercial for both episodes after the premiere ended in Japan. The video features the anime's opening theme, "ideal white" by Mashiro Ayano:

Rin: I summon you from the circle of control, protector of balance!
Text: The Holy Grail War that revolves around a miracle.
Rin: There's no mistake that you're my Servant.
Archer: I'll make you regret that rash remark of yours.
Saber: I ask you: Are you my Master?
Shirō: Saber!!

The first episode added Hiroshi Kamiya to the cast as Shinji Matō.

The staff also unveiled a new key visual:


The new anime will follow the original game's 'Unlimited Blade Works' route and will premiere on Japanese television on October 4 at midnight. It will be split up into two cours or quarters of the year. The latter half of the anime will premiere in April 2015.

Mashiro Ayano is performing the opening theme, "ideal white," while musical group Kalafina is performing the ending, "believe."

An anime film of the original game's 'Heaven's Feel' route has also been green-lit.
